Is there a place for Intersectionality in Educational research?

If indeed intersectionality is as claimed "a major paradigm of research", it is perhaps high time to consider and appraise how this "analytical tool" may of relevance in human and educational research. The need "to satisfy the demand for complexity", as indicated in research in this area, is as acute in the field of education as in any other area of human social life.
Given the many dimensions that shape human social life, the study of the interrelatedness of traditional categories and the finer intersections between them is likely to lead to more perceptive and productive analyses in the multidisciplinary and broad area that is today known as the educational sciences.
With this framework this International Research Workshop intends to be a forum for:
-Presentation and discussion of research outcomes of various kinds dealing with intersectionality
-Discussion of conceptual and methodological implications of the use of intersectionality in research with relevance to the field of education.
