Anders Danielsson is new Chairman of the Jönköping University Foundation
On May 1, Anders Danielsson took over as Chairman of the Jönköping University Foundation. He recently been Governor of Västra Götaland County and previous to that had the role of Director General of both the Swedish Security Service and the Swedish Migration Board.
Anders Danielsson was born in Skåne, but has lived for many years in Uppsala and Stockholm. He is currently living in Gothenburg. He is a trained lawyer and has always had a burning interest in democracy issues and "a good and well-functioning society".
Democracy issues in particular have been a common thread throughout his career. He has upheld the rule of law's protection of human rights through roles such as County Police Chief in Skåne, Director General of the Swedish Security Service as well as in his assignment as Director General of the Swedish Migration Board and Secretary General of the Swedish Red Cross in the promotion of human rights worldwide.
The role of chairman of an academic institution is a first for him, although he has previously worked closely with academia in other roles.
“I was very honored when I was asked to take up the post as chairman of the Jönköping University Foundation. I have always liked academia and the specialization that Jönköping University has within a variety of different disciplines suits me very well. The investment in dental education is also an exciting project.
