Thomas Schneider
Thomas Schneider is an adjunct senior lecturer in Quality Improvement and Leadership at Jönköping Academy for Improvement of Health and Welfare and the School of Health and Welfare at Jönköping University. He also serves as Chief Development Officer at Bräcke diakoni, where he is responsible for quality, IT, and innovation, combining academic research with strategic leadership in the Swedish welfare sector.
His research focuses on quality improvement, co-production, and evidence-based practice, with particular emphasis on non-profit and public welfare organizations. Thomas has published on quality management and studied how co-production can enhance participation for both employees and service users. He has also worked with quality registries and digital tools to improve care and social service processes, including his role as chair of the steering committee for Senior alert, a national quality registry for preventive elderly care.
Thomas teaches quality improvement and leadership with a focus on change management and co-production. He has supervised doctoral students in quality improvement within the non-profit sector and social innovation. As leader of a Vinnova-funded testbed for person-centered care and social services, he has driven the development of new working methods and digital solutions.
Thomas has served as an expert in government inquiries on patient participation, quality in elderly care, and e-health, and has co-authored Sweden's national e-health strategy and action plans for open comparisons in health and social services
