How to apply
The exchange programme is open to students coming from one of JIBS’s partner universities. Students from these partner universities are welcome as exchange students to JIBS.
Once selected and nominated by their home university to JIBS, they are required to apply.The students will receive by e-mail username and password to be able to apply online and to fill out the personal information and selecting the courses.

The required documents
- Choice of Course Confirmation. The students must print out the Choice of Course Confirmation and have it signed both by the students and the coordinator at their home university.
- Transcript of records. The transcript of records is an official document issued by your home university, which includes courses and grades of previous and current higher education study
The required documents must be uploaded in the online application system before the application deadline.
Last day to apply and to send the required documents
- May 1 for students wishing to begin studies in August (autumn/fall semester)
- October 15 for students wishing to begin studies in January (spring semester). The application documents must reach JIBS by these deadlines.
The letter of acceptance
The application can take between 2 to 3 weeks to be processed. We kindly ask for your patience.Students within Europe will only receive the letters of acceptance by email (if you don’t request the originals). Students from outside Europe will receive it by email and to the home address.
Course selection
Full time per semester is 4 courses equal to 30 credits, therefore full time load per period is 2 courses. Master level students may select courses in both Bachelor and Master level. Bachelor level students may only select courses in the Bachelor level.
The periods are specified as follows:
Autumn A1: Study period 1 from August to October.
A2: Study period 2 from October to December.
Spring S1: Study period 1 from January to March.
S2: study period 2 from March to May.
Courses that do not attract a minimum number of participant may be cancelled. In that case students must choose another course. In addition, it is possible that some courses may clash with each other. Thus, it is important that all exchange students select alternative courses in the online application. JIBS also reserves the right to limit exchange student enrolment in classes that are at capacity.
General requirements
The general prerequisites for all exchange students are the following:
1. One year of completed university studies within business administration, economics, informatics, law, or political science for bachelor level students. When signing the Choice of Course Confirmation the home university certifies that the student meet the requirements for each chosen course.
2. The equivalency of a bachelor degree of at least 3 years (180 ECTS credits) in length for master level students.
3. Fluency in English equivalent to a TOEFL score of at least 575 with at least 4,5 in ”Written test (TWE)” (paper based), 213 with at least 4,0 in ”Essay Rating” (computer-based) or 90 with at least 20 in ”Written test (TWE) (internet based). IELTS: with an overall band score of 6.5 and no part under 5.5.
English language requirement
Generally speaking, the home university guarantees a student's fluency in English, by signing a course confirmation statement. Although language test scores are not formally required, all students are expected to meet the university's minimum English requirements and students must receive a signature from a representative of their home university guaranteeing their fluency in English.
Students without the adequate level of English run the risk of failing the course.

Study levels and grades
The study levels of the courses taught in Sweden have changed as of year 2011. Please find below the description of the levels in comparison with the former level system.
You can find the level of the courses in the course syllabi under the heading "specialised in".
