Digitalization and Implementation Processes in School 2 (DIP II) 7,5 Credits

This follow-up course prepares educational leaders, teachers, and researchers to make informed decisions and take well-balanced actions regarding the digitalization of education.

Digitalization of educational settings is a burning question worldwide. Despite global divides, schools in many countries have a relatively long history of using digital devices. The course will explore the role and functions of digital tools, and how these are implemented in everyday teaching and learning. In focus on this course is practical field work in digitalisation and implementation processes. With an international perspective, a comparison of national and regional regulations and goals, usage of digital resources at the local level will be explored.


Digitalization and Implementation Processes in School, 2 (DIP, 2) is an advanced level course and a continuation of the course Digitalization and Implementation Processes I (DIP, I). The purpose of the course is to implement theoretical perspectives in DIP, 1, in practical settings.

Prerequisites

A bachelor’s degree (i.e., the equivalent of 180 ECTS credits from an accredited university) with at least 90 credits in educational sciences, social sciences, or related field, including independent, theoretical based work, i.e. a thesis or the equivalent. The applicant must also have taken the course Digitalization and Implementation Processes in School I (DIP I) or the equivalent. Proof of English proficiency is required. Exemption is granted from the requirement in Swedish.
