IT Project Management: Leadership and Control 7,5 Credits

Course Contents

The course consists of two main parts, one within group dynamics and leadership, and the other within IT project management and control. Group dynamics and leadership contains theories and models for how the individual’s, the group’s and the leader’s behaviors affect each other. The course also contains fundamental project methodology with models and tools for the project leader, especially with regards to IT projects.

The course includes the following elements within group dynamics and leadership:
- Judgements and behaviors
- The communication process
- Inter-cultural communication
- Leadership and employeeship
- Change behaviors
- Group dynamics

The course includes the following elements within IT-project management and control:
- The project as a working model, with a specific focus on IT projects
- The project management role
- Project models
- Needs analysis and specifications
- The project definition including risk analysis, stakeholder analysis, and cost planning
- Planning and continuous monitoring of projects
- Meeting techniques
- Evaluation

Prerequisites

General entry requirements and passed courses 150 credits in first cycle, including taken course Software Development 7,5 credits (or the equivalent).
