Research

Globalization and outsourcing have led to longer supply chains and longer lead times. At the same time, the demand for customized products has increased. These trends are however conflicting, where longer lead times lead to increased costs for customized products. Manufacturing companies should therefore differentiate their supply chains based on the customers’ requirements, which they supply. Fredrik’s research addresses these issues using decoupling thinking. In line with this, Fredrik´s research interest are decoupling thinking and supply chain operations management strategies, specifically in the context of demand-driven manufacturing companies.

Biography

Fredrik is born in 1987 in Skövde, Sweden and grew up in Mullsjö, Västergötland. In 2013 he obtained the degree Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) with a major in Industrial Engineering and Management, specialisation in Logistics and Management, at the School of Engineering, Jönköping University. The following year (2014) he obtained the degree Master of Science (M.Sc.) with a major in Business Administration at Jönköping International Business School, Jönköping University. In July 2014, Fredrik became a Ph.D. student in the field of production systems at the department of Supply Chain and Operations Management at the School of Engineering, Jönköping University. Since February 2017 Fredrik holds a Licentiate of Engineering, and since October 2020 Fredrik holds a doctoral degree from School of engineering, Jönköping University. The title of Fredrik’s dissertation is Strategies for Demand-driven Supply Chains – A decoupling Thinking Perspective. Fredrik is the examiner of the courses ‘Logistics’ and ‘Materials- and Production Planning and Control’.
