Hip Hop Pedagogy in Sweden: Resistance, Language, and Culturally Resonant Education

Sammanfattning:
This doctoral thesis examines how students, teachers, and researchers engage with the transformative potential of Hip Hop and the tensions that can arise between Hip Hop and the institutional structures of formal schooling. It is an autoethnographic study exploring how Hip Hop Pedagogy can function as a much-needed form of resistance within the Swedish educational system. The autoethnographic approach aligns with the values of Hip Hop Pedagogy that emphasize the importance of voice, storytelling, and lived realities. By combining narrative with theoretical reflection, this work aims to analyze and demonstrate how education can become more pluralistic, creative, and humanizing.
