Research

Her specialty is adult development theories that show that people have qualitatively different complex ways to interpret and manage life experiences. Projects are conducted in a variety of areas, such as leader and leadership development, innovation, change management, and leadership. Research is performed in partnerships with small and large private, non-profit and public organizations. Her research is characterized by creativity and the ability to move between scientific fields. She is committed to sustainable development.

She is research leader for Samskapa-a co-production research program, 2019-2024.

Biography

Sofia Kjellström is Professor of Quality Improvement and Leadership. She teaches and have written a best-selling textbook in Care ethics. 

She has a broad humanistic and social science education (BA. In sociology) and (MSc. In Practical Philosophy) from Lund University. Her doctoral studies were conducted on multidisciplinary Tema Health and Society, Linköping University, resulting in a 2006 treatise on the individual's responsibility for their health. After the defense she had a post-doc at School of Health Sciences who laid the foundation for a lectureship in 2011. She became associate professor of gerontology in 2011. She has developed many postgraduate courses and was the program director for the research subject Welfare and Social Research for several years, and she became associate professor in Welfare and Social Science in 2017.
