Nerrolyn was educated as a prosthetist/orthotist at LaTrobe University in Melbourne, Australia and obtained her doctoral degree from the same institution.  After completing her doctorate, Nerrolyn spent three years working within the prosthetics and orthotics program at the British Columbia Institute of Technology, Vancouver, Canada, before beginning her career at Jönköping University. She currently divides her time between the School of Health and Welfare and the President’s office at Jönköping University, where she is the Presidents Advisor for Internationalisation. She is a member of the CHILD research group at Jönköping University.

Nerrolyn is very active within the international prosthetic and orthotic community and has contributed to the development of many key policy documents for the profession. This includes a role in the development of the World Health Organization’s Standards for Prosthetics and Orthotics Service Provision and co-authorship of the original international Education Accreditation Guidelines.  She recently completed a two-year tenure as joint editor-in-chief of the International Society’s peer reviewed journal.

Sustainable prosthetic and orthotic services for people living in limited resource settings is an area that Nerrolyn holds very dear, and she is a founding member of the Exceed International Disability Research Network which aims to improve accessibility to assistive technologies in low- and middle-income countries.
