The Accommodation Office and Student Health Care at Jönköping University recently met with student residents at Råslätt to create dialogue and show themselves available to them.

Collaboration was in focus when Student Health Care and the Accommodation Office at Jönköping University met students who live at Råslätt on 3 October. Vätterhem and the area police also participated in the meeting.

The students also got to meet Vätterhem and the area police at Råslätt.

"The purpose of the meeting was to enable a slightly less formal way for mainly our international students who live at Råslätt to meet us, student health and the police. We want to start a dialogue with the students that we are available to them if there is something they want to discuss with us. We also want to make it clear that the area police is there for them and the others who live in Råslätt and that they can contact the police if they need to," says Susanna Grahn, Student Accommodation Manager at Jönköping University.

During the meeting, the students also had the opportunity to point out where on Råslätt they think more lighting is needed.

"Started good conversations"

Susanna Grahn thinks it was a successful evening and heard the same from several participants.

"We started good conversations with several students and they got an insight into the fact that we collaborate both internally at JU as well as with Vätterhem and the police," which was a positive surprise for many of them, she says.

She points out that they want to have a dialogue not only with the students who live in Råslätt, but also in other places in or around Jönköping.
