Use the revolving doors on campus

One of Jönköping University’s strategies revolves around sustainability and part of that work is to continuously find ways to reduce the university’s energy dependence. One action is to encourage and ensure the usage of the revolving doors on campus.

At almost every entrance on campus, there are revolving doors as well as a side door a little further away. By using the revolving doors, you help save energy as the revolving doors are designed to be air passages that maintain the heat indoors during the winter. Remember to always use the revolving doors when entering or exiting buildings on campus.

Besides using the revolving doors, there is much that can be done by you as a student/employee to save energy and help the environment. Small changes in every-day activities add up to big changes when we all do them:

• Close windows and doors
• Turn off the lights when you leave
• Book the right room for the right number of people
• Do not use portable heating fans
• Use power saving mode on the computer
• Take the stairs instead of the elevator
• Fill dishwashers properly
• Do not print unnecessarily
• Pull out charging cords when mobile phones and other devices are fully charged
• Sort waste, paper, and rubbish, and use the correct recycling containers
