Changes at the library due to the coronavirus
Read about temporary changes of library services. The page is updated regularly.
Service limitations at the University Library
As of 26 March, you cannot browse the library shelves yourself. In exchange, students and staff can request books, whether they are on loan or not. We will collect the books and put them on the reservations shelf for you. You will be notified by e-mail in the morning of the day you have books to collect. Books requested before 10 o'clock can generally be collected that same day.
The library is closed, except for collecting requested books weekdays 12-14. You can still call us, or use Ask the library.
The group room corridors are accessible with JU-card 6-23 all days.
How to request a book in Primo
- Search in Primo
- Choose the title you are interested in
- Sign-in to request.
- Press Request
You can come by and return library books on weekdays between 12:00 and 14:00. You can also leave the books at any time in the box for returns in the entrance hall or in the red box outside the library entrance.
Books will still be sent to JU-staff through the internal mail.
No overdue fees
For the time being, there will be no overdue fees for ongoing and new loans. This is effective as of Tuesday 17 March. We have made this change to help you avoid visits to campus if you are ill or concerned about the risk of infection.
Remember that others might be waiting for the books. Please return them as soon as you can.
Lengthened loan period for course books
As of Tuesday 24 March, the loan period for books from the course book collection has been changed from two to seven days.
Course books which are currently on loan will also get this lengthened loan period when they are renewed. Please keep in mind that you still must renew course book loans in Primo.
Limited opening hours
As of Tuesday March 17 and until further notice, the library will be open on Monday to Friday from 10:00-16:00. Group rooms will be accessible with your JU-card after 16:00.
