Milad is currently (2019-Ongoing) a postdoctoral researcher at the Jönköping School of Engineering. Prior to that, he graduated from Università degli studi di Brescia in Brescia-Italy with a PhD in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering in 2017. He got his MSc. from Politecnico di Milano in Milan-Italy in the field of Industrial Engineering in 2013.

He has a direct and hands-on understanding of manufacturing machinery (specifically, injection molding machines), while his doctoral studies have been wholly dedicated to the production systems based on Additive Manufacturing (AM) technologies. His expertise in the latter lies in ensuring manufacturability of products by performing comprehensive analyses both in terms of technical evaluations as well as economic feasibility studies. This includes not only the possibility of new product development projects through AM, but also improvement of functionality, reduction of wastes, and increasing efficiency of existing products both during production and use-phase.

With several years of research and study, he has become an expert in different software and tools that are relevant in understanding and analyzing problems and then coming up with solutions to tackle those problems. In addition to these, and thanks to years of living abroad and being in multicultural environments both in academia and industry, he has trained himself to become a suitable team contributor that is capable of engaging with other collaborating members and help with the overall success of the projects.
He can speak three languages fluently (Persian, English, Italian) and is in the process of learning Swedish.

His current research interests include:

  • Application of additive manufacturing (AM) systems in industrial manufacturing
  • Implementation of automation-based solutions in production systems
