Christian Sandström är biträdande professor inom Digital Business. Han disputerade på en avhandling om teknologiskiftens implikationer för etablerade företag (2010). Efter några postdoc-vistelser vid bland annat Cambridge, ETH Zürich och Victoria University på Nya Zeeland blev han docent på Chalmers år 2014.

Sandström fick I-teknologernas pris som bästa föreläsare år 2009 och Chalmers Pedagogiska Pris år 2018 för att ha utvecklat nya undervisningsmetoder.
