It investigates how digitalization shapes teaching, learning, and communication in educational settings. It identifies entities responsible for decisions regarding digitalization. Through, the research presented in the thesis provides a comprehensive understanding of the complexities and dynamics of digitalization in Swedish educational settings. The first study offers a historical overview and critical analysis of the Swedish school system's digitalization across 60 years. It emphasizes the importance of teacher competence development. The second study explores the flipped classroom method used by subject teachers. It illuminates diverse approaches and outcomes and highlights the sensitivity and trend-sensitivity of digitalization. The third study, a curiosity-driven netnographical study, examines how educational institutions present themselves online. It uses a loitering, wandering stance to freely inquire into the inclusivity and communication of educational matters in our digital-analogue existence. The fourth study analyzes how schools portray themselves online, using a netnographical approach to understand the inclusivity and communication of educational matters.
