Introduction
Many construction projects suffer from delays and budget overruns. This is often due to insufficient information, which has a direct impact on production activities. Regulatory requirements such as environmental product declarations, the Construction Products Regulation, digital product passports, and digital logbooks will place additional demands on transparent and traceable information in the future. To address this, the "levels of information needs" (LOIN) standard can be used. LOIN defines who should provide what information at what time, which can reduce information gaps and streamline planning.
Summary of the project
Today, LOIN is rarely used by small and medium-sized entrepreneurs, mainly due to limited resources and a lack of knowledge. The project aims to support these companies by developing a method that integrates LOIN into their existing workflows. Production planning and information delivery are currently done separately. The results of a previous project, on which this application is based, show that these processes could be coordinated. By linking LOIN to production activities, information can be tracked based on the object to which it belongs, creating a clear link between activities and information needs.
A standard library with ready-made LOIN templates would enable planners to work as usual, but with better information management. This project will develop requirements for such a library so that it can also be used by smaller contractors.
