The JIBS Board of Advisors consists of external members, representing both academia and business. The Board of Advisors is assigned to provide perspective and advice to the leadership team, by engaging in constructive dialogue and monitoring the school’s continuous progress with regards to long-term ambitions as well as shorter-term goals.

Anders served as Deputy Vice Chancellor of Uppsala University 2012-2020 and is currently the chair of Riksbankens Jubileumsfond, and a board member (vice chair) at UiT The Arctic University of Norway. His main research focus is on industrial dynamics and local and regional economic development.

Family business scholar, holding the Schlesinger-Grossman Chair of Family Business at the Grossman School of Business, University of Vermont. Also visiting professor at the John L. Ward Center for Family Enterprises (Kellogg School of Management) and Senior Research Fellow at the Thomas Schmidheiny Center for Family Enterprise (Indian School of Business). Track record of leadership and advisory roles in academia and professional associations.

Friederike Welter

Professor, University of Siegen and Institut für Mittelstandsforschung

Head of the Institut für Mittelstandsforschung (IfM) in Bonn and professor of Small Business Management and Entrepreneurship at the University of Siegen. Her focus is applied research on small business and entrepreneurship. Member of policy-related advisory boards for federal as well as state ministries and international bodies in Germany. President of the European Council for Small Business and Entrepreneurship, 2007-2009. Member of Academia Europaea.
