Family business researchers receive FOBI scholarship
Börje Boers, PhD candidate, and Associate Professor Mattias Nordqvist received the prestigious FOBI scholarship award 2011 for their proposal entitled ”Understanding Hybrid Identity Organizations: The Case of Publicly Listed Family Businesses”.
The Family Owned Business Institute (FOBI) at Grand Valley State University, USA, seeks to promote and impact family businesses through quality academic research and information services. FOBI created the Research Scholars Program to encourage new, high quality research with an emphasis on family business dimensions.
Four to six FOBI awards are given each year, and the stipend is 5000 USD each. This year 4 awards were selected from 31 submitted proposals and Börje Boers accepted the award at the FERC 2011 conference in Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA. The money is for conducting research and the results have to be presented at the FERC 2012 conference in Montreal.
Börje Boers and Mattias Nordqvist work at CeFEO (Centre for Family Enterprise and Ownership) and the ESOL department (Entrepreneurship, Strategy, Organisation and Leadership) of Jönköping International Business School.
