Application

There is an online application for MFS. Eligible student groups will be sent an email including the link to the application.

The following documents must be uploaded:

• Copy of passport (often needed to be valid 6 months after your return from abroad)
• Residence permit (if applicable)
• Transcript of records (get it at Service Center)
• Curriculum vitae (CV)
• Project plan according to the template (including budget specifying cost of living, accommodation, transportation etc)
• Invitation letter from the host institution/organisation
• JU Supervisor's confirmation of the application
  
• Other recommendations related to previous international experiences, global issues and developing countries, if possible.

All application documents must be in English and as pdf!

Writing in pairs

If you are writing your thesis in a pair, mark that in your application. You only make one online application. Project plan and Invitation letter will be the same for both persons and copy of passport, CV, Transcript of records and any recommendations will be individual for each person.

Assessment criteria:

1. Academic quality of the field study
2. The relevance of the field study for the host country / host organization
3. Feasibility of the project
4. Ethical feasibility
5. The project's relevance for the Global Goals, Agenda 2030
6. The project's relevance for the thematic priorities according to the new reformation agenda for the Swedish development assistance funds, decided by the government.
7. Personal suitability and maturity to complete the field study
8. Ability to produce the thesis in English or the official language of the host country
9. The field study's arrangements with special regard to safety aspects
10. Reasonableness of the applicant's budget

The results will be announced within approx 3 weeks after the application deadline.
