The Sustainable Enterprise Development programme is aimed at students interested in social or environmental sustainability. Marcela Ramírez-Pasillas, Programme Director, tells us more about the programme
“The programme is perfect for those passionate about exploring new ways, products and services to address sustainability challenges. It appeals to people who are interested in creative solutions to corruption, discrimination, poverty, inequality and/or environmental degradation,” says Marcella.
She emphasises the need for businesses and organisations to adopt sustainable practices for their survival and the planet's well-being. Social and environmental entrepreneurs have understood this need and are innovating new approaches in response.
“Graduates from the programme can pursue diverse career paths in both profit and non-profit sectors, as well as in politics, as project managers, change leaders, and analysts. They also have the skills to start their sustainable businesses,” she says.
Marcela, who has studied in Mexico and Sweden and holds a PhD in Business Administration, has experience in both the public and private sectors, including entrepreneurship. She currently teaches at Jönköping International Business School at JU.
“At JIBS, students benefit from an international learning environment that fosters a strong entrepreneurial spirit. Marcela advises students to study hard, travel, and build a network of international friends who may become future colleagues in creating a sustainable world,” says Marcella.
