Annie Lööf appointed new Board member to the Jönköping University Foundation

The Swedish Government has today appointed Annie Lööf as a new Board member of the Jönköping University Foundation Governing Board. Annie Lööf, former party leader, Minister for Enterprise, and Member of Parliament for Jönköping County, will be a great asset in the board work. The term of office is from 1 April this year to 30 April 2025.

I am impressed by the journey the university has made over the last twenty years, the modern leadership, the many students and the partnerships with companies and municipalities that make the university both unique and successful," says Annie Lööf.

Extensive experience

For more than sixteen years, Annie Lööf represented Jönköping County in the Swedish Parliament and as Minister Enterprise she was responsible for issues such as business policy, entrepreneurship, innovation, regional growth, industrial policy, and financing, which will be a great asset in the board work. Annie has previously been a member of the Foundation Governing Board in 2010-2011, but had to end the assignment when she became Minister for Enterprise.

Annie Lööf has been party leader and chair of the board of the Centre Party 2011-2023, Sweden's Minister for Enterprise and Head of Ministry 2011-2014, as well as Member of Parliament for Jönköping County 2006-2023. Today she is currently self-employed and mainly works with counselling and lecturing and has assignments on the boards of GreenIron AB, byWit AB and Astrid Lindgrens Vimmerby AB. Annie has a law degree from Lund University with a specialization in criminal and procedural law.

This is how members are appointed to the Jönköping University Foundation Governing Board

The Foundation Governing Board appoints a nomination group that proposes a chairman and external members. The nomination group works independently and submits proposals for names to the government. Based on this proposal, the government then decides on the new board members.
